Call for Hapa Writers/Artists
Mixt Up Productions is currently accepting submissions of works by multiracial Asian American artists for the third in a series of three chapbooks.
Mixed Up and Too Mixed Up include a wide range of works spanning poetry, short stories, monologues, prose, and visual art. Such themes discussed are sexuality, body image, class, and interpersonal relationships. While the contributors to the first chapbook mainly hail from the Los Angeles area, the second chapbook has a broader geographical range, and therefore, showcases a more varied spectrum of Asian American mixed heritage perspectives. The editors hope that the third chapbook, All Mixed Up, will expand further in the direction of an even more all-encompassing collection.
Specifications
You may submit as many pieces as you wish, however, combined word count among pieces should not exceed 2,000 words or 5 pages. Works should be already laid out in the format to be published. All works will be reproduced in black and white within an 8" x 5" vertical format.
To submit
Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged. Please send your name, contact information, a one-paragraph bio with two copies of artwork, or written material by March 1, 2004 to mixt_up@hotmail.com. Inquires should be addressed to brandy22@ucla.edu.
Selections will be made by series editors, Jamie Ardena and Brandy
Worrall.
