I would love for you to be present for the showing of my project, FishBird.
Years ago I was talking to a woman who proclaimed the impossibility of interracial marriages saying, "A fish can love a bird but where would they live?"
Sponsored by the Brooklyn Arts Council, this is my attempt to answer that question. The exhibit uses interactive sculptures, photographs and interviews with multiracial New Yorkers, FishBirds, who share their experience of living between cultures and between races.
Best,
Katrina
